Paul Parrott Paul Parrott was the younger brother of Charley Chase. Parrott actually worked at the Hal Roach Studio before Chase, and possibly helped him get the job directing the Snub Pollard comedies.
While Parrott was a capable comedian, his work was similar to Snub Pollards’. Going nowhere at the studio as a comic, Parrott realized his true talents lay behind the camera. For the next decade he would direct the best comedies of Laurel and Hardy, Max Davidson and Charley Chase.
